"Essentially it (VCSY) is a web services company."
Long before Microsoft could. "Its primary product, SiteFlash, is a commercial content management system that uses XML to publish and maintain web sites." Actually, that's incorrect. Siteflash is a commercial content, format and function manament system that uses XML to build systems that publish and maintain web sites. In fact, it is much more than that, but we'll keep it in the ballpark so Jeremy Reimer will have a chance to see the bases. Now, I want you to see the innocent little sleight of hand jeremy uses to pooh pooh what he's seen. ""Prior art solutions have succeeded in partially separating some of these functions. Notably, content management databases and digital repositories provide a means of separating content from form and function." It then defends the need for this separate patent with the incredibly vague assertion that "content management tools typically fail to address form/function issues."" and in the very next paragraph: "I've used a few content management tools in my time, and none of them have failed to separate content from function" Which is it, Jeremy? Is it "form/function" or is it "content from function"? Not very clear, are you. Mostly vague and apparently not educated enough to know there are no systems that claim to allow developers to use any content, any form and any function to build applications. He then continues with his lecture on content management when the patent itself has already said it steps beyond content management. That's why the patent was granted. And, of course, the grand-daddy of vagueries and unfounded assumptions: "Even if the patent did describe functionality that was unique to products like SiteFlash, it will be difficult to argue that Microsoft's .NET frameworks are infringing on these ideas. " That's the kind of articles original_Al is using to base his rejection of patent 6826744. Kalafella is such a dolt, he only echoes Al's rant as a sycophant and dlkjla hasn't got a clue what he read. Some technology experts we have here. LOL Rating :
