The tasers will be tried for a year before introducing decided. Especially strong are the chief advocates of this transient weapon. It is not intended that the 'normal' police weapon gets. Arrest Teams rarely solve a shot to an arrest and the number of deaths and injuries has decreased significantly. PvdA MP Attje Kuiken feels that the Ministry should do more research on the Taser. SP MP Ronald van Raak would explain the necessity of the Taser by Minister Guusje ter Horst. The Dutch Federal Police doubts the need for arms to be transient. Already in early 2006 by the Ministry of Internal Affairs for permission for a test. They voted in August last year. Is it so often missing in action from arrest teams that a Taser is needed? No, says police and arms expert sociologist Jaap Timmer of the Free University. Suspects are frequently surprised if an arrest team in a storm that they can be directly unmastered. Likely there is resistance, it is often a physical way "solved, says Timmer. "At'ers are only doing one thing: ensuring that the suspect does not get the chance to resist. If necessary by a beech to share." According to Timmer, the number of arrests by at in a few years doubled the number of victims that it was more than halved. In the two arrests by at last year's, was indeed "several hundred" firearms drawn to the suspect under control, but no shot landed. Apparently, the arrest teams without the Taser fine feet. Is that a weapon or need? Yes, say the Council of Chief Commissioners and the Ministry. In their eyes the Taser fills a gap in the armor. This now consists of the firearm, the police and the beanbag, a weapon that a 'bag' with afvuurt spheres. The disadvantage of the beanbag is that only for larger distances can be used, while a dog in small spaces is not always useful. Pepper spray is not an option because that suspects that stiff of the drugs or the adrenaline is not enough. Remains on the firearm. "It is immediately very definitive," said a spokesman for the Council. Amnesty International fears that the Taser will have a counterproductive effect. "The threshold to use is much lower than with a firearm," says Ruud Bosgraaf. "Where arrest teams may now verbal or physical threat of a situation to resolve it soon as possible to grab the Taser." Timmer indicates that assumption of the hand. "At'ers will always find the least serious way." According to him 'credit' the police that if they want to minimize casualties. "If two or three at'ers top of your jump, you really at the dentist. While Taser that no permanent damage. Everyone would choose the latter." Rating :

"Human rights organizations Amnesty International and Defense for Children opposed the deployment of the weapon against fleeing suspects and against children twelve years and older."
Same old A.I. attempting to mislead and confuse the public any time and anywhere they can get away with it - -- "children twelve years and older"??? They aren't "children" when they are twelve years or older and some of those MINORS carry weapons - guns in the U.S., who knows what in the Netherlands. It's all part of the Amnesty Int. disinformation campaign to confuse the words "children", "youth", and "teens" with minors (under 18) in the public mind when it comes to being shocked with a Taser. What they are deliberately trying to hide from the public (lying about - their standard modus operandi), are the following facts about what the police and public are up against. U.S. Dept. of Justice, FBI, Criminal Justice Information Services Div. U.S. Dept. of Justice, Office of Justice Programs "Violent Encounters: A Study of Felonious Assaults on Our Nation's Law Enforcement Officers" August 2006 available at: http://www.calgunlaws.com/index.php/arti... Minors and firearms... "All three studies (this and two others) report that the offenders regularly carried handguns at a relatively early age. The offenders who were interviewed for the Killed in the Line of Duty study began carrying a handgun at the AVERAGE [my emphasis] age of 18. Those who were interviewed for the In the Line of Fire study began carrying a handgun at the AVERAGE age of 17. The offenders who participated in the current study began to regularly carry weapons at the AVERAGE age of 17. Sixteen of the 43 offenders in the current study began carrying handguns at age 15 or younger, with the age breakdown as follows: 9 years old (1 offender), 10 years old (2 offenders), 12 years old (1 offender), 13 years old (5 offenders), 14 years old (3 offenders), 15 years old (4 offenders). Eleven of these 16 offenders were self-admit-ted gang members. Thirty-seven of the 43 offenders in the current study regularly carried a weapon, that is, most or the majority of the time. Of those, 35 regularly carried a handgun, 1 a knife, and 1 a rifle (in a motor vehicle)." . Sentiment : Strong Buy Rating :
