I think I understand your post. You are a trader who sometimes listens to his wife and acts like an investor.

I've always been an investor and it has served me fairly well, except when I get emotionally attached to a position and I hold it too long. If anything, your methods have given me a better appreciation for the trader's approach. But all that "in and out" business with the "4x hammer" can make you crazy.;-) Sometimes you just have to believe in your picks and let them ride.
