Great point. If the BOD took stock as compensation, then Yavy would have to tap the local homeless shelter for it's members.
I don't know what the succession plan is....but I guess I'm a schmuck...I actually expanded my position today.
YAVY was in the blue chip section of my portfolio, but I have now switched gears and it is in my 'play' stock. I am gambling that the day a top mgmt figure is canned, the stock price will double (maybe triple??), and I can recover most of my initial investment.
I still feel sorry for all the local widows whose husbands loaded up on this over the past 30-40 years, expecting the dividend to continue to support them thru their last years....
But I don't feel sorry for the zombies on the board that allowed this to happen. They cannot blame the economy for this. Look at the comparable regional banks (BBT) who are thriving under the same conditions.
