Pelosi's Public Option Not Good Enough for Congress      4-Nov-09 07:48 pm
From Congressman Joe Wilson of S. Carolina:

"This morning, I was pleased to join several of my colleagues to introduce an amendment to automatically enroll all Members of Congress in the government-run option. In the Education and Labor Committee, I was able to pass a similar amendment. But the Pelosi takeover plan changes the word forcing Congress to take the government-run option that they are pushing on the American people.

You see, while this health care takeover lists the mandate "shall" 3,425 times, Speaker Pelosi changed the one "shall" that would place Members of Congress on the government-run option to "may".

That one, small “may”’ reverses the meaning of the bill.

If Speaker Pelosi insists on shoving this bill through, then I believe that Members of Congress should go onto the government-run option. If it’s good enough for the American people, then it’s certainly good enough for Congress."

I guess Congressman Wilson didn't get Pelousy's memo that the bill was designed specifically to cover only the surfs and isn't good enough to cover the royalty like her. "Let them eat cake"
