Last December, Engel postponed the development plans for XOMA's 629 topical gel used to treat mild to moderate Acne. It was reformulated to better penetrate the skin, but clinical trails were temporarily put on hold. Anyway, Acne is now considered a disease in medical circles and I would love to see them re-enter the dermatological therapeutics market and announce that clinical trials of the reformulated gel would recommence in 2010 with the new improved gel. XOMA 629 has already been proven effective in clinical trials against even antibiotic-resistant strains such as erythromycin or erythromycin. It seems that such a minor reformulation to achieve better penetration and such would not be such a difficult task and the annual forecast for the world's medicated skin care products market is ridiculously huge.

Pimple faced investors, would really like to know if there is a new partner they might be interested? Come on, Engel. It's been a year on this one !!!
