My question that needs answered:

How can a retiree NOT have a gap in medical coverage when one cannot fund an HSA until the account is opened? No banks will be open on January 1, 2010 so no one can fund their HSA until the following Monday,January 4, 2010 which then would allow for an insurance company to deny coverage because of the lack of medical insurance coverage for those three first days of 2010.
