roneye2, I was simply inferring that NOLA regional, in general, is not where the future growth (in Deposits, Trust, etc.) for this Bank/Holding co. lay, and this "Tampa Bay office space" could turn into a much broader footprint...Take it for what it is worth...


From the News release:"Whitney to consolidate regional executive management for business and retail banking, residential mortgage lending and human resources, said Eric Obeck, regional president for Whitney. It also will feature a full-service banking center. In addition, the Tampa region wealth banking group, headed by Mark Edmunds, senior vice president, will be headquartered at the new site".


Sounds like to me, somethings 'could' be in the works for down the road.....could it be a merger with someone that has a broader Florida footprint???

Pure conjecture, but, it sure seems to me that Whitney has got off the mat, pretty fast and now with this second-wind, new life seems to be springing up.
