because of the GAAP, convertible bond! They didn't want to let VG price went up more and more because that would meant VG has to pay more to the GAAP/convertible bond...even if they got acquired/buyout, most of the money will go to the holders of the convertible bond anyway!! But now that it is over, they will let VG goes up and/or be acquired.
