Announcement stuns the artsy-fartsy

The Nobel Prize committee stunned the world today, announcing VDC had been awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize for Literature. There was a noticeable gasp among reporters today when the committee announced it's selection.

In making it's selection, the committee announced it was favorably impressed by the company's financials and regulatory filings. "We have never seen such a mix of comedy and tragedy incorporated in one document," the committee remarked.

Despite the surprise announcement, early reaction among literary critics supported the decision. Jose Saramago, the 1998 winner, told reporters "all non-shareholders, such as myself, laugh our heads off when we read their filings... that is, when they can be troubled to actually file them on time". Larry the Cable Guy echoed Mr. Saramago's sentiment. Said Mr. Cable Guy, "them financials is funnier'n watchin' a retard eat hot wings". Joe Schmuck, a long-suffering shareholder, told reporters, "I cry every time they see fit to file".

In other news, Antoine Williams, who recently shared a jail cell with Charles Barkley, told reporters after one day of listening to Sir Charles talk, he went to prison officials and demanded to be put into solitary confinement.
