WOW!!!...Vical's CEO just called the U.S. officials presiding over the H1N1 vaccine program, "idiots." Vijay Samant says Vical is in active talks with foreign governments for Vaxfectin and hopes to make a deal with a more innovative company.

The statement came in response to a question on the low yields of egg based vaccines and the high potential of Vaxfectin to solve a huge problem for the government. Vijay said Vical's goal is to go outside the United States to launch Vaxfectin.

When Vijay was told his remarks were being webcast the plug was pulled and music began to play. The Q & A also brought a hard sell for Allovectin 7, making the point that patients and their doctors can check on the results of the trial with other health professionals so actually recruiting patients would be impossible without reports of success. Moreover, Vijay told the 9 months of due diligence by AnGes before investing in the A-7 trials and the DD done by Teva and the Turks before they made a deal.

Vical is either going to burst through with the best in class technology or flame out...but the CEO made a very strong case that Vical is at a historic inflection point...one that will be validated by a more progressive nation than ours.
