99.9% of the people that frequent this board are speculators NOT investors, if you think otherwise you are a fool.

It has been a recurring theme over the months ive been frequenting the UNG board. The word INVESTMENT reappears repeatedly. Futures are not buy and hold i.e. speaking of prompt month. (God bless you if you can trade actual futures contracts and buy out months or parts of the strip) As flawed as UNG is, the singular reason it is flawed is because retailers think they can use it as an investment.

STORAGE COSTS! (i.e. contango), you cant enter the futures market and by a contract and hold it. If you were to hold then sell the contract 4 days prior to expiration and buy the next contract you would incur the same problem. The only folks that seem to understand this concept are the options players here.

Futures markets were derived for producers and end users to hedge, NOT YOU or ME. Everything else, the other 99.9%, is just noise, i.e. speculation. All you are here for is liquidity, and dare i say reduce volatility, and bring stability to the market. If you don't believe this, Google the ban on trading onions. The most unstable cash market because there is a ban on futures trading in Onions of all things.

Some repeated posters here, to go nameless, (HIS NAME IS RALPH..lol) seem to feel day traders F'd up UNG....lmao. Nothing could be further from the truth. Its the buy and hold folks here that created this monster they call UNG, now being liquidated (downsized) by fear of CFTC regulatory action.

Its not just UNGs month to month roll methodology that is flawed, I would submit to the investors on this board, your investment methodology is flawed. In the end, approx 1% of this market takes delivery.... the other 99% are speculators. Most speculators don't hold things for very long.

So, to you INVESTORS out there, thanks for the donation. The producers that have been propped up by your money thank you every day, you have given them life support. Hell the HK's of the world should pay you a dividend for all you have done. lol

To the speculators, levered etf holders, options players and futures traders..........
