There is something that I have been thinking about for many months (quietly, to myself - because I could not even bring myself to think about the potential) and the events of recent days to weeks caused me to ask. In the 10Q the boys note that they are going to BUY a facility for production, and verbally, during the CC, Bill said they expect to move production to the site of final assembly of the vehicles, BUT that they needed an initial site for gearing up for the CODA. Yesterday, there was a post from a newcomer to the board that stated that UQM was buying a facility in Colorado, and although he was not an investor, he plans to obtain employment at that factory.
So, when the 10Q mentions $10 million for a facility, and our new poster mentions the same...... well, I think there is a plan afoot. CODA is going to be the FIRST electric car sold in the US, and I believe that we are in the Fisker, which will be the first Plug In Hybrid Electric - and they are buying a plant in Delaware to build the second of their vehicles there (which they are buying very cheaply from GM) and the purchase is contingent on a labor agreement AND Gettlefinger recently stated that "these guys are very smart" and "know what they are doing". So, what is the third potential customer? Well, GM does not make cars, they buy most of the parts from suppliers and assemble them. They do make ICE's (some of which they are selling to Fisker) BUT, do they make electric motors as good as UQM? I doubt it. Our motor was in the EV1, and could it be, might it be, in the Volt. GM has never said who is making the traction motor for the Volt. GM is now Government Motors and the Government just gave UQM the money needed to gear up quickly for SOMETHING, and I doubt if it was given to them to GEAR UP to compete with GM (Fisker) SO, I ask, is it a possibility of UQM being part of the Volt. There was a very LONG pause. The answer could have been NO or Yes, but GM would not let them say Yes. NO was easy, but NO COMMENT is what we got. I report, YOU decide.............. Rating :
