Chatter on the floor is saying that Buffett is interested in gobbling up transports. UPS has been mentioned as another target, if he make a bid for the company it would be up to the Board (in the best interest of the shareholders) whether to approve it or not.
Before Buffett made the offer for Burlington Northern its market cap was roughly $22bil, now it's market cap is $33bil and if it's approved share owners will receive a $44bil buyout. That equates to a 100% market cap increase in the last few days. If Buffet does the same deal with UPS (and he can,) he would need to match the offer of BNI. This would mean laying down over $100bil for UPS. I'd take it in a heartbeat. Your thoughts? MJR Sentiment : Hold Rating :
