I just received my new retiree healthcare guidelines for 2010. Guess the party is over. We're going to a deductible format with a cap & the prescription drug coverage ain't lookin' that good either. Who remembers the conversation that ended with;"keep your nose clean (a.k.a sell your soul), do exactly what you are told, work those horribly long hours without complaint & the company will take care of you in your retirement. I think it came with the same commentary of: we'll never go public; we'll never dilute the stock-it's for manager's only; we're all partners, even the management committee follows the same guidelines; UPS will take care of you & your family in retirement; etc." How many managers are still bailing at 55 or are they now clogging up the career growth arteries because the stock is pretty much a dormant albatross?
