BRIBERY!
Tennessee State Senator Ward Crutchfield of Chattanooga entered a guilty plea Thursday(7/12/2007) to a single charge of BRIBERY in the Tennessee Waltz investigation.
Federal prosecutors allow Crutchfield to plead guilty to the single incident and to have the EXTORTION count dismissed.
ISN'T CHATANOOOGA WHERE UNUM HEADQUARTERS IS.???
Tennessee was the lead state that "investigated" UNM Unum .
Has the press or authorities looked for a connection between UNUM: the "OUTLAW COMPANY",
and CROOKED Tennessee state government???

A UnumProvident vice president on Friday morning issued a public apology for kicking in the door on a state health inspector's car in a road rage case. Stephan A. Reed, a tax counsel for the insurance firm, was given an 11-month and 29-day suspended sentence and granted diversion.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. --A UnumProvident Corp. regional vice president pleaded guilty to federal fraud charges in a case that caused losses of about $6.1 million for the nation's largest disability insurer, prosecutors said.
James Michael Foley, 49, of Germantown pleaded guilty Thursday. His sentencing was set for March 23.

In November, UnumProvident in an unrelated action ended what New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer described as deceptive practices and secret payments to brokers, according to a $15.5 million settlement.
The insurer agreed to pay restitution to policy holders and a civil penalty of $1.9 million.

In 2004, the disability insurer ended an investigation of complaints about claims handling with an agreement to reconsider about 200,000 claims and pay a $15 million fine.

WORCESTER-- UNUMProvident Corp. and Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. have filed a civil lawsuit accusing a former UNUMProvident employee of embezzling nearly $400,000 over the last several months. <br>The FBI is investigating the alleged thefts, according to a lawyer representing the merged companies. <br>The suit filed Aug. 15 in Worcester Superior Court alleges that Jetzenia Ortiz of 40 Country Club Blvd. misappropriated about $399,000 -- money that was to be paid in disability benefits to a Paul Revere policyholder -- and converted the money for her own use. ... According to the suit, Ms. Ortiz worked as an associate customer care specialist for UNUMProvident from March 29, 1999, until July 15 of this year, when she resigned. In her position with UNUMProvident, she was responsible for the payment of disability benefits to Paul Revere policyholders.
