work? The pro-lifers don't want the insurers to cover abortions.... they will offer an amendment to that effect, the pro-choicers will vote "no!" and then we will see if the losers (lifers or choicers) accept the outcome and vote for the final product.
If we already have 20 hard "no"s that leaves 233-218 = 15 votes to work with.
They probably know just how this will turn out but you never know?
They talk about "let the majority rule!" in the senate but let's see if Nancy closes the vote tally board if the "majority" initially rules against her.
If it fails it would be stunning... I never expected this sort of drama in the house... if it passes, rammed through with all manner of elbow twisting, what does it really mean?
As the days go by and the bill is more carefully examined, more and more odd little billion dollar gifts to friends and family will start surfacing...
The illegal immigrant issue is sure to rear its head before long....
The house Hispanic caucus is going to be hogtied and tossed uncerimoniously onto the back of the truck...... that must be embarrassing for those folks.... If you are Hispanic, change you can believe in means Rahm Emmanuel shouting "shut up and sit down!".
