They will say "yes" and then in a few decades or so when our grandchildren can't keep up on the payments the Chinese will simply foreclose and evict us.... the bureauacrats won't miss a beat and simply become "western division of the Chinese directorate" bureauacrats.... they don't care as long as they get a comfy chair and can smugly order people around while deciding whether or not to affix their "official" stamp to one thing or another.
Bureauacrats are flexible that way, they don't care who's in charge... think Vichy france or India under the Raj... bureauacrats could run the US on behalf of Hitler, Stalin or Mao and never miss a paycheck.
Free Yeoman tend to suffer a bit during regime changes though..
I've half a mind to day trade a bit here... today and tomorrow seem like range bound days... Monday will be a big day.
