Wait, I forgot something! The feds assuming control might not be legal (as if that means anything). The Constitution restrict the authority of the Federal Government to items specifically named in the Constitution and those things delegated by the States, not by the Congress since Congress does not have the authority to expand it's own parameters without ratification from the States collectively, but rather is regulated by the "checks and balances." Any action to the contrary is known as Infringing on States' Rights, and that's not playing nice.
