It might be a win-win deal but they are still going to lay people off because they are not moving the jobs back from overseas even though that was part of what they promised to get the contract. That is why they are not servicing the loans as stated earlier in the posting and 3 other companies are.
They are looking out for the bottom line and sallie mae will not go away but the customers will be getting called to apply for credit cards and mortages even though they just sold off a bunch off them.
People need to read the fine print for any loan paper they sign with sallie...their info is going to get sold or used for marketing purposes.
