HD started all of this by declaring that the customer is always right. We have become so sensitive to what customers complain about, now we have to worry about whether something we sell, wear, or display is politically incorrect.
I have worn a small American flag on my suspenders that hold my apron for the last 9 years. But, with the discussion here, I worry it may be next to be removed. I am not stating any political opinion. I just like the flag and was given it by one of my past vendors. It reminds me of that person.
I would however remove it if HD said it was in there policy not to wear it. I work for the company only 8 hours a day. They pay my check.
But, there are many things that HD supports politically that I do not support. I am also a customer sometimes. If I complain about there stands on issue. Shouldn't they honor the customers complaint. (I'll betcha they don't, because someone at the top has a political agenda they are pushing.)
I just think HD plays the politically correct moves to stay in business. And cares only about the bottom line(That is why they sell Christmas trees, and don't support Christmas.) It stinks. But, that is the way it goes. Is it consistant with other things they support. No. They are hippocritcal sometimes.
Personally, I don't think HD stands for much. That could come back to haunt them.(Pun:Halloween-Ha-Ha.)
