Been reading the posts lately. Not too concerned about the "air clubs" but I understand that it does have an effect on the overall "mood" of the company when people are living good on the company dollar. I have heard that they have cut back a lot on company travel and that is a good thing. They need to focus on actually MANAGING their departments. My sources tell me that there is a lot of waste going on where the company has several people doing a job that can be outsourced to a more efficient, and cheaper vendor. Not a problem in all depts. but a problem in a few. Insurance companies in general are still run as if it is 1960. They need to be more pro-active and not re-active. Outsourcing, not offshoring, is the answer. Insurance companies are extremely bad at handling (just like the govt.) programs. In essence, they should have employees managing vendors who have incentive to be more efficient, etc.
