Earnings are out and they exceed expectations. Dividend is easily covered. No problem on that front.

Provisions for loan losses are up significantly, but that was expected. Capital ratio is very comfortable at 10.4% (7% is considered the floor).

Management sounds cautiously optimistic for the remainder of the year.

Conclusion: if financials go up today, BNS will outperform.
