Under the settlement, TETRA`s subsidiary Maritech Resources,
Inc. (Maritech) will receive approximately $40 million in cash within the next
30 days, which will bring Maritech`s total insurance recovery related to 2005
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita to approximately $136 million.
Stuart M. Brightman, TETRA`s President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We
are pleased to put this lawsuit behind us. Upon receipt of the settlement
proceeds, we will have received the vast preponderance of our insurance claims
arising out of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. There will be a positive income
effect from this settlement, however, its exact timing has not yet been
determined."
