I agree with most of what you say. Having spent some time in Turkey recently, I was impressed by how few people actually had cell phones. This is NOT a poor or tech unsophisticated country and, everyone eventually wants a cell phone. A far as I could tell, Turks will remain very loyal to TKC. It will be a rough challenge for any competitors to capture much of the future market.
