My forecast 3 years ago was the US govt getting involved in Med costs and all would change in the future but with the simplification of the TFX business would make it more venerable in the future. Remember all, TFX used to be very diversified conglomerate and although this led to a very complicated business that was hard to manage with higher costs it did enjoy the benefits of diversification within itself and was protected from market sector declines and seasonal adjustments.
Although I read that profits/margins have been increasing this has been mainly though acquisition and divestiture and with the Democrats meddling in the system could impact on future profits for any companies solely in the US medical sector. TFX only protection from Govt intervention is its overseas business and remaining Aviation and Marine businesses, IMHO
