In an effort to compete with its rival Deutsche Telekom, Spanish telecom group Telefonica is planning to acquire Germany-based telecommunications services provider HanseNet, a subsidiary of Telecom Italia, according to media reports. Analysts estimate the purchase price to be in between E900m and E1 billion.
