In addition, one of two banks the company used, TD Bank, has "stonewalled'' the firm and is refusing to provide records, said Herbert Stettin, the retired Miami-Dade judge who is the firm's court-appointed financial overseer.

Broward Circuit Judge Jeffrey Streitfeld ordered that TD Bank turn over the firm's account records by noon on Monday.

"We know there is a deficit in a number, if not, all of the trust accounts," Stettin told Broward Circuit Judge Jeffrey Streitfeld.

TD Bank spokeswoman Rebecca Acevedo said Friday the bank has a policy of being "open and transparent" and will make every effort to comply with the request for the voluminous amount of records. She said the bank got the first request for documents shortly after 3 p.m. Friday when it received the court order.

Stettin said the firm's other bank, Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust, is cooperating in providing access to accounts.

Firm co-founder Scott Rothstein is suspected of misappropriating hundreds of millions of dollars in an investment business that his colleagues say he covertly ran out of the law offices. The flashy Rothstein became a major player in local politics, businesses and charities within the last few years, garnering a reputation for being able to dash off a hefty donation or campaign contribution with the wave of a pen.
