They announced the buyback of 500,000 shares on 9/29 when the stock was 13.40 - 13.70. I would assume they have been buying on the way down and may have completed their purchases

Stock buybacks that are announced on stocks in a downtrend do not normally keep the stock at that level. If you go back to the buyback of 1,000,000 announced in late May 08 the stock was over 19 and they bought the stock at an average of apprx 17. That means they bought most of that stock bewteen 18 and 16


In any case don't count on the buyback holding up the stock price. Obviously up till now the stock has declined about 2 points since the announcement. Maybe without the buyback it may have gone lower
