Yes, it's disappointing that S6973 evidently will not used in beverages, but I still think that there are many, many food applications in which it will be used. Hopefully Firmenich is excited about the product and will announce plans to commercialize it soon. In the meantime, SNMX can keep working on the "next generation" of sucrose enhancers for use in beverages.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed about a salt enhancer. That would be the holy grail, so to speak. There really aren't any "substitute" salt products out there like there are for sugar (aspartame, Splenda, saccarin). Being able to significantly reduce the salt content of a food without losing any of the taste would be a coup.
