Just exactly how much longer is the "TSFG Show" going to play before the network cancels it? While Lynn Harton certainly seems to be a very smart man with progressive ideas, until he makes some significant changes at the local level some of these branches are NEVER going to be profitable.

I recently relocated to Charleston, SC after banking with Carolina First in Rock Hill, SC and receiving EXCELLENT service from the branch manager there. Upon relocating to Charleston, I was referred to one of the branch managers in Charleston.

I was not at all impressed with the branch manager in Charleston. She wasn't even able to answer simple banking questions intelligently, didn't return my telephone calls and seemed never to be in the office when I visited nor was ever available when I called. I was not impressed in the least. Unfortunately I received just about the same level of service from a second branch manager after I tried another branch in the Charleston area.

Until Harton recognizes the need to make drastic changes in talent at the local level and bring in some skilled, seasoned bankers the company is going to continue in its present path down the toilet.

I've heard nothing good or positive in the local community about Carolina First since I moved to Charleston. Customers and employees alike have nothing at all good to say. It's unfortunate, but Carolina First's name is "mud" - at least in the Charleston, SC market. I eventually chose to move my banking relationship elsewhere.

Let's hope that someone with some banking savvy will be recruited to help revitalize these local branches so that the company will prosper and the stock will turn around and go UP, UP, UP! I would like to see a return on my investment sooner rather than later. This is getting a bit ridiculous. Is executive management blind? Get into your local branches and see what you are offering. Frankly, it's embarrassing to be a stockholder having experienced first hand what I experienced in Charleston as a customer.
