I am very concerned the end may be near, based on stuff people are saying at work. We are having to be mean to old customers as we call in loans, and now I hear that those of us who are "just doing our jobs" - rumor has it that 25% of us are going to be laid off after Tuesday's reporting of 2nd Quarter. Carolina First is sure burning all of its bridges, losing good customers. Customers who have been paying their interest for years, contributing so much. Who loses their jobs, which categories, when they cut 25% ? Do they close branches? How do they lay off that many people? I know they had to pay their managment tier big retension bonuses to stay until the end of the year, but does that mean they are just keeping in place the people they HAVE to have to downside, shutdown, and move on ? Should I be looking to get out of banking ? This is creepy.
