looking at the blocks of 10,000 sitting on the ask chasing this pos @#$% lower today tells me the short-before-pipe might be going on.

it's as old as the hills with penny stocks.....institutions or hedgies that will be buying on the secondary offering short the stock in advance....then cover with the stock they buy on the offering....common or warrants or units.

What makes this work is the advance notice of where the shares will sold in the offering.

If Rodman and Renshaw etal have already established a price of, say, 90 cents per share for SPEX as a price where Spherix can get the money they need....then these insiders can short the piss outta SPEX....knowing it will tank when a secondary is priced below $1. That would explain why it's dropping. I can't imagine there are many Bincsers here offering 10,000 share blocks with the interim results around the corner.

I had hoped SPEX would release the interim results before they announced the secondary or a RS....but I've always watched SPEX f*ck everything else up over the last 15 years....and that's what kept me from taking a full position this time.

We'll see....if SPEX and R&R and Big Hedgie push this below a buck, I'll be buying right along with them down there.

It kinda shows how little leverage SPEX has, if true. The best thing for SPEX and shareholders would be if SPEX announced the interim results first....created a spike in price...then issued common and equivalents on the sspike at higher prices. That would cost them the fewest share in dilution and raised the most money. But the folks who bought those shares on the spike (R&R, Hedgie) could have been left holding the bag if the news spike didn't last....

So we got the short end of the stick. SPEX announces the seconday and/or reverse split first....new shareholders thru the warrant, units, common get in cheap (and possibly short ahead of time)...and then when SPEX later announces the positive interim results, these guys will already be on board and profit from the spike...instead of buying on it.

Oh well.....just my guesses....UCPAT....
