I have lived in Southern California for 75 years.
We are way overdue for the "Big One" on the San Andreas fault. The Landers and Hector Mine quake were in sparsely populated areas. If it hits Calexico, Brawly, El Centro or Mexically it would be very destructive due to all of the old structures. I have a fully stocked survival kit. Do You?
