There seems to be a major disconnect in the US culture
between the concepts of "money" and "value".
As part of that, there is a disconnection
between the concept of "creating value for other people"
and the concept of "job".

within the boundaries of my property
I have an enormous amount of tasks that I'd like to get accomplished ... splitting firewood, cutting kindling,
planing lumber, tearing out old carpet and cutting and nailing
pieces of parquet ... etc etc ...
I can't find people interested in doing it ...
all these "unemployed" people that the press keeps talking about
want to be personal managers or website builders or massage therapists or, at best, warehouse supervisors ... no one wants to actually do work,
they just want paychecks ...

so our government is paying them to do nothing but drive around all day ...

now the press is arguing that the money that the US treasury is printing and spending
is less than the money lost in the crash last year,
and therefore is not inflationary ...

but paying people to not work still degenerates value,
there are still fewer goods and less services being performed for people so wealth is still declining,
and inflation is still happening.
