Same thing happened in the 1950s when Conoco and others found a lot of offshore gas in the Gulf of Mexico. It upset the mid continent independent producers just like shale gas is upseting the Alaska gas pipeline crowd and the LNG folks. We need to bring back the Federal Power Commission to regulate this industry from wellhead to burner tip.
