perhaps the credit markets are closed to them. perhaps they want their debt/equity ratio to get in line with some target number. many possibilities, but i agree, this does not seem to make economic sense to me either. Ferrel did the same thing a while back, raised more equity instead of debt. same questions there. get your stops in place.
