Interesting yet not terribly informative. I have worked with many oximeters, but have never seen an INVOS in use. I was surprised by what appeared to be a fairly quick reaction on the oximeter to his arm flexing. With most oximeters you need to hold your breath for a really long time just to see a desat. I have also seen many oximeters be fooled by the motion artifact from doing things like flexing your arm etc. At the end they showed a screen with an alarm condition which I hope was not from him flexing his arm. It seemed like an odd way of demonstrating, but I have little experience with brain oximetry. Can anyone with INVOS experience comment.
