Unsophisticated investors are afraid that Sprint will lose to Verizon with this misleading phone offer. Look at this:

Sprint unlimited voice/text/data plan for the Hero = $100
Equivalent Verizon plan = $150 ($100 voice + $20 text + $30 data)

One will make up the price difference in less than 3 months.

Another thing is that Eris has older Droid version 1.6, while the Hero has 2.0. So there is a big difference, and I think that Verizon will lose on this misleading promotion. If Verizon assumes that it can mislead hi-tech users and at the same time enforcing $350 for ETF (early termination fee), then it just proves how arrogant and stupid they have become.

Anybody who thinks that they can outsmart EVERYBODY is nothing more than a buffoon. Verizon is already getting a bad rap for its ETF everywhere, so it will not save its face with misleading promotions.

When this backfires, smart investors will be rewarded for remaining with Sprint.
