In my opinion, do not use Select if you want a loved one to live - they did a horrible job for my family member and the staff was completely HOSTILE TO US - In the end they did NOT have a wireless heart monitor on our loved one as they promised when they gave us an initial SALES tour of their facilities. Result: loved one died without anyone there knowing it - just a few days before the scheduled release to go home. Your loved ones are completely ON THEIR OWN if placed in a room at Select (in my opinion). Even the doctor was shocked about the death and indicated that in his records.
I think Select decided themseles that it was "time" for our young family member to "go". They are not in a position to decide who should live or die.

My opinion, any murderers/criminals who are injured should be placed in Select, rather than go to a death row prison.

SEM released a fresh copy S-8 registration statement and it shows that the EPS for Q1 and Q2 of this year, was $.47 versus $.03 for the same 2 quarters in 2008.

If they lost 1 cent in all of 2008 according to your linked document and they made 3 cents for the first half of 2008, that means they lost 4 cents for the LAST half of 2008. The last half of 2008 (-4 cents) and first half of 2009 (+47 cents) gives 43 cents EPS.

There is probably some 1/2 cent rounding errors that account for the difference between 43 cent rough calculation above and 40 cents from Yahoo.

Yahoo is not a reliable source of data. I have seen many errors in the Yahoo data. I think it is because they construct the information from several sources and there are seams from integration errors.

The -1 cent from 12/2008 is obviously not the same information as the Yahoo EPS which is a ttm number (last 4 quarters). The ttm data will include the first 2 quarters of 2009 and 2H/2008 which is a different number. That said, I don't see where they come up with the Yahoo number.

I am surprised that you did not already know this since you posted the financial link and charged everyone with the ominous "Buyer Beware" and "Read between the lines".

Of course you should also "Do your own DD" to verify anything that I say.

4 1/2 years ago SEM management took the company private for $2.3 Billion in a merger with EGL Acquisition Corp ( Welsh Carson ), only to resurface in an IPO now, with a market cap of only $600 Million, even though they acquired an additional $245 Million in assets from HealthSouth in 2007.

LTACH hospitals are dead in the water. They have been for years. CMS shut down the growth in this sector long ago. This company has very little growth prospects. Goldman asked favors from many of their institutional clients to get this deal done and then shoved the rest down the throats of the retail accounts. For some reason this deal had to get done now, and Welsh Carson took any valuation it could get. Be very careful of this one. The underwriters have struggled to keep this one above issue price, and it looks like it may soon crack.
