Went to the latest R and R conference to see Resverlogix's presentation and here are the basic takeaway points:

1) Their compound increases the GOOD cholesterol--HDL---but stimulating a naturally occurring pathway, and further it increases cholesterol excretion from the body. First oral compound ever shown to do so.

2) Results from early human trials show compound safe, and results from early Phase II trials in a few weeks. Will demonstrate how potent their compound is in humans.

3) Negotiating with several phama companies to out license the drug, and the sense I got is that they feel they are close to a deal. The structure would be a fairly generous up front payment with a guaranteed buy out price after the Phase II trial next year at the Cleveland Clinic. Won't discuss details of the deal in anything other than general terms, but for a drug that they seem to believe could ultimately complement or replace Lipitor(largest selling drug in the world) the buy out would have to be a multiple of where the stock price is now.
