Hey - it's all perfectly legal and some would say keeps things in balance.

I never short myself but there is some use for it.

Real and intelligent shorts typically do WAY more research than longs. They are not only betting a direction but usually a timeframe.

And when they get a little squeeze they squeal like pigs and have to buy our shares at artificially high prices.


That said I can't wait for the crack down on naked shorting. That should have been illegal from the get-go. Atleast to anyone with common sense - so that leaves out a lot of folks in influential positions.
