Check out Friday's volume. The average daily volume for RPT in the last 20 days, what we would considered its "normal" daily volume, was 490 thousand shares traded/day. On Friday it traded 6.23 million shares. That's 13 times its normal daily volume. This is what we technical chartists call "unusual volume".

Combine this with the fact that the stock has been dropping in the last 3 sessions on large volume, all the horrible news that's been coming out from this company (cutting the dividend, issuing new shares), and the overall bearish sentiment on commercial real estate and I think we've got ourselves a great shorting opportunity here. I could easily see this thing dropping to $6.70 or lower.

Also, I track 2000 stocks on StrategyDesk and overall the number or stocks trending higher (defined as stocks whose 10 day SMA is > than its 20 day and the 20 day is also > than the 40 day) has been decreasing steadily while at the same time the number of stocks in downtrends has been increasing, tells me that this bull run is ready for a nice pull back. Plus check your charts, we're now running into an unfilled gap on the SPY from 1 year ago (The Monday after Lehman collapsed), can you say MAJOR resistance?

For a mere 0.65 ($65) you could buy an October $7.5 put and be short 100 shares of this @#$%y REIT for the next 35 days and possibly double your money or at the very least protect a long stock position (for you true RPT believers).
