DGX shareholders, you have an issue on your hands. And I've heard this from other examiners around my area. What is happening is that you have a central office stupidly scheduling our work for us. We have to constantly log into the Exam One website to tell them when we're available. Then they do stupid stuff like schedule us at ridiculous times and often in a haphazard way. It just doesn't work for us independent contractors.

I'm done with Exam One. I'm increasing my work with Portamedics and APPS, plus I'm picking up more clinics and wellness screenings. So are other examiners. It's interesting, but within the last 12 months or so the paramedical industry, with Exam One leading the way, has done just about everything they can to piss off their key stakeholders (the examiners) to the point where we are walking away from this type of work. This is a very recent development. And before you say "hey, so unemployed nurses and phlebotomists will step in and fill the void" you'll soon discover that 80% of them suck at it and will quit within 3-6 months, leaving a mess behind.

The insurance agents are sick of this as well. I can't speak for them, but my experience tells me that they, too, will move their work. They don't want their customers pissed off trying to schedule an exam. I have been in this business so long I have had some agents call me and ask "who should I route this work to?" Guess what? It sure ain't Exam One.

I keep track of my work with all the different paramedical companies. Before I threw in the towel with DGX I started to see my Exam One bookings falling off with the others taking up the slack. In other words, your piece of the paramedical exam pie is shrinking, at least in my territory. In time it will show up in DGX's earnings due to reduced billings, reduced lab work, etc. Someone needs to wake up at Exam One and put the scheduling back into the hands of the examiners and not with someone far away. It doesn't work. It never did before, and it doesn't now.
