Toyota Prius still uses NiMH batteries. The only car that will use Li ion batteries is the Chevy Volt, and is scheduled to launch next year. They will be buying from a Japanese company, so will not do PPO much good. PPO needs the lead acid battery market to pick up (i.e. auto market), more countries in the Asia region to convert to PPO-type dialysis membranes and consumer electronics that uses Li batteries (laptop, cell phones, power tools, etc) to pick up. The auto market (except for the Volt) will likely not use a Li battery for awhile due to safety concerns. As for PPO price .... should continue to outpace the general economy, but not take off to $20 for awhile.
