Rumor Round Up The rumor mill has been rather slow of late and today is not much different. We have received a few rumors today and while many rumors circulate during the day, and the validity of the source of these rumors can be questionable, the speculation may increase volatility in the near term.... We received renewed takeover chatter in Healthnet (HNT 15.24 +0.54), with Wellpoint (WLP 46.91 +0.62) being the most recently rumored acquirer... We received a renewed rumor that Hewlett Packard (HPQ 47.42 +0.48) could be interested in Polycom (PLCM 21.67 +0.58) rumor, which we note was the topic of a recent Wall Street Journal story. It was also circulated that Green Mtn Coffee (GMCR 68.41 +1.23) would get added to the S&P 500. We note this rumor has been out in the past and there have also been chatter dispelling the initial idea... Lastly we received a rumor that Hewlett Packard could be interested in Rambus (RMBS 16.55 +0.45), which did not garner much traction and is seen as a bit of a stretch.
