You are right that there are so many variables involved, it is difficult to see which one will overpower the other.

I am in the peak oil production camp. Soon Mexico will stop exporting oil. China is buying 800,000 cars a quarter. Hell who knows. If I can get 8% I am happy. PBT has no debt and pays good and we will always need oil and Natural Gas.

Other than that, disregard everything I said. I have no clue. The only thing I am good at is losing money.
