I sold most of what I had of OPTC today and yesterday before the conference call. Today I sold at $3.20 and $3.40 most going at $3.40. Yesterday went at $3.60. Rather than sit on this huge loss (39%+) waiting probably a year for something to happen I put my money im stocks that are increasing in value which all of my othenrs are. I'm still holding about 3000 shares. Patterson says they are turning the corner. That sounds like CEO speak. When did we hear that before: a year ago. I thought they were winding down the fiber optics a year ago and transitioning into IP and here they are still being caught by surprise. I think what we really have here was once a fiber optic company who found themselves in the position of a buggy whip manufacturer and had to scramble to get into the IP market by buying NKF which apparently they could barely afford and for most customers their products would be barely distinguishable from the competition. Like they said many people never heard of them. On the bright side infrustructure spending is finally picking up and they have a new sales force with a new focus. One would hope and expect this to bear fruit: however, my attitude is I need concrete numbers not optimism and many cities around the country are severely short of cash. I just bought a ton of ITI with my money. They also are partly an infrustructure play, but they're making money and getting contracts. One can only hope for the best here.
