I have never seen anything like this. It is good what the stockholders are doing going after the board. The point I don't think they realize is that its not that Blackstone ruined Orthofix. Orthofix made the following bone head moves that killed Blackstone and Orthofix.
1. They did over pay for Blackstone. 333 mil. 2. They were bound and determined to kill the Blackstone Name. Blackstone was the better brand by far. Ask any spinal or Orthopaedic Surgeons. 3. They put in a whole layer of management that did not know anything about the spinal market. They spent dollars re-doing all media over and over to change everthing that was Blackstone red, silver and black to their blue. But the factions could never agree so they were continually redone. 4. At the first AAOS meeting after the acquisition you could not even find the Blackstone name in the program. 5. The hostile attitude toward Blackstone Employees drove many of the top enployees out of the company. 6. Then about a year ago they drove their own Orthofix people based in Dallas out. Management had made another knee jerk decision that they were going to sell their ortho line of fixation products and just become a spinal only company. This leaked out to their employees and they lost more top people. Then when Orthofix great management realized that nobody wanted to buy any of their fixation products they reversed that decision but the employees had already left. 7. They drove the top Blackstone distributors out that accounted for about 20% of Blackstone's sales 8. They did not renew the contract with Osiris for the bone growth product that was worth 30 million a year. So Nuvasive inked a deal to now distribute that product instead of Blackstone. All the shareholders have to do is just sit down with the former Blackstone employees that were just told that their locations in Springfield MA and Wayne,NJ would be closing down and they would be able to gather all the info the might need for their case. This management group destroyed 2 companies. I would not invest one dime in this stock. If your intent was to intentionally lower the stock price 80% I don't think you could do any better job.
