Just going to guess why there business plan has failed.

They contend that they will focus sales in rural areas since there competitors operate in the mainly in metropolitan areas.

The problem?
People in general living in the outskirts typically have a much lower disposable income.
As seen in there last q the cost to produce the product exceeded the sales.

It also could be possible that there factories have antiquated equipment and so have to hire more people to make a product for example while there competitors are using more modern equipment allowing fewer workers to keep cost down or the equipment is capable of a much larger output while NWD is not.

The competitors may have knowingly dropped there prices well below what NWD can produce their product. To maintain any market share NWD has had too also reduce there prices which has resulted in the product costing more to produce than they can sell it for.
The competitors also may have deeper pockets and have discovered NWD's weakness and are willing to accept a small loss to gain additional market share.

The other problem with NWD business plan they state the cost of the product is due to it being of higher quality and so higher cost to produce etc. But once again while the metro areas may be experiencing growth that growth may not extend into the rural areas and the people they are trying to sell there product too may not have the disposable income to buy the product, the wholesalers have reduced their purchases in response or not being able to pay for the products that didn't sale could not pay there bills?
